My dear friend, not so plain Jane, rallied the troops in her Suburban to the attend the fair. We came with a promise of free admission in exchange for donating children's books. Little did she know, the book exchange ended 5 hours prior to our arrival! Facing the reality of the steep prices ($12.00), we decided we would pass on the rides and let the younger kids have at it.
I must say, adulting and not waisting money on the rides was the best experience. So much more relaxing. So much more enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend omitting the rides at the fair, come next visit.
After visiting the lice filled orgy that is the Orange County fair for 19 years, we picked up on one major pro tip that proved itself this trip: go at night. Nothing worse than waiting in a 45 minute ride line that costs $20.00. After 5 pm, when the crowd settles (a little), the temperature quells and the sun sets, the real spectacle begins: the lights. The bright neon lights against the dark night sky, transport you into a light and lively world far from the reality location of Santa Ana. Go visit and share your experience in the comment section below!
The very best,
